In another print of the same vase and pedestal from a different point of view, Piranesi seems to say that the pedestal belonged to Colin Morison: see Wellcome Library no. 756431i

Dedicatee "Guglielmo Vyse": possibly Sir William Guise, 5th Baronet, of Elmore Court, Gloucestershire. He accompanied Edward Gibbon on their visit to Rome. His portrait was painted by Allan Ramsay in 1761 (A. Smart, Allan Ramsay, London 1999, no. 220; sold at Sotheby's, London, 2010(?))
