Description

Buckland is delivering a special lecture at the old Ashmolean Museum on 15 February 1823 to announce the discovery of a skeleton with ornaments in Paviland cave, west of Swansea. The skeleton was initially identified as that of a man, but owing to to the red colouring of the bones and the ornaments was re-identified as female, and subsequently re-identified again as male
