About this work

Description

The three characters are drinking from a bottle labelled "Sham-pain". The parson, whose wig is slightly amiss, has a sheaf of paper hanging from his coat entitled "Sermons on Temperance & Sobriety". A pipe and snuff box are on the table next to the alcohol.
