About this work

Description

Bhil was the name given to a group of people in Rajastan

Kirāta was the name initially given to the aboriginal people of north-eastern India, living in mountain caves. Shiva assumed the form of a Kirāta when he fought with Arjuna over a boar, which each had claimed to have killed. Arjuna finally realised while fighting, his adversary's identity, and dropped down to worship him; whereupon Shiva gave him an invincible weapon
