Bible, O.T., Book of Daniel, IV. Nebuchadnezzar describes to Daniel his vision of a great tree which is to be cut down. The tree is shown in the background of this engraving. The cutting down of the tree refers to the imminent madness of Nebuchadnezzar. A stump of it is left, referring to his recovery from madness
